First Flamboyant Festival in Hai Phong City

On June 9 2012, the first Red Flamboyant Festival was opened in the northern port city of Hai Phong to welcome the Vietnam National Tourism Year 2013 in the Red River delta, which will be hosted by Hai Phong.

First Flamboyant Festival in Hai Phong CityHai Phong is one of the big cities of VietNam which is famous for Do Son beach and the industrial central port. The festival aims to honor the red flamboyant flower, the symbol of the city, and promote a historic, traditional and attractive image of Hai Phong to visitors.

The opening ceremony began with a parade featuring a unicorn and dragon dance, and a bronze drum and trumpet performance accompanied by songs praising the city’s development. This was followed by an arts program and the event ended with a colorful 15-minute fireworks display.

The event will be taken place in two days with many other cultural, arts and culinary activities.
